I Don't Care For Drama
I'm all for a great play, love me some dramatic theater...but leave it on the stage, people!
Many moons ago, I worked backstage for a college-level production of a depressing drama called Terra Nova. My duties boiled down to making sure props were where they belonged and helping the star actor through a couple tricky quick changes.
I had around 30 seconds to get him from a tux to a parka, snow pants, and other harsh-weather gear. (Insert a much younger Plaid banging her head here)
Mr. Star was a drama queen in the truest sense of the word. The world revolved around him... *sigh* I know lot of actors are full of themselves, but this guy pressed the limits. Fortunately, I learned pretty quick that the best way to make him happy was to be perfect, which suited my perfectionist self to the toes.
Even so, I think the director sometimes regretted casting him, it was chaos backstage during rehearsals!
