Confidence To Walk Away

I was asked recently why I have few friends. My answer surprised the person but to me it was the truth. "I will not be judged by others and most people cannot accept that. Rather than be judged I walk away." I have been called hateful, arrogant, stupid, cocky, loud mouthed, and several other wonderful names because of my opinion or stance on subjects. However, I generally warn people prior to their asking, "Don't ask my opinion if you do not want to hear the answer." When they become angry or belittling I have the confidence in myself to not argue I can walk away.
Mark Twain said, "Never argue with stupid people. They have will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience." Gotta love a man who is wise.
