I Don't Follow Or Worship Celebrities

I'm writing this not to break balls, but to be totally honest and blunt. It appears that some people get offended when I post negative things about celebrities and make fun of them here and there through my status here. I wanted to write something to alert people "now", my stance on the whole celebrity world. I've been mum on so much for almost 4 years of blogging and writing and I can finally express myself on how I feel about everything..My first target? Celebrities..Always was, always will be.

For those that actually read my stuff and know me truly, know that I don't follow or worship celebrities. I could care less if they are:

1. Alive or Dead

2. Gay or Straight

3. Drug User or Straight Edge

4. Successful or not

5. Having a child out of wedlock or not

6. Dropping an album

7. Dropping their draws

8. Hiring hookers

9. In rehab

10. Out of rehab

11. Attempting a comeback

12. Drive drunk

13. Hook up

14. Died of an overdose

15. Shaved their heads

16. Cheating

17. Making a movie

18. Broke

19. Have they're wives chase them with a golf club and later crash into a tree with a car..

20. Get a parking ticket

I will continue to make fun of celebrities and the stupid things they do because it's fun and it's what makes me, "me". If you find offense that I'm making fun of Lindsay Lohan or Charlie Sheen, you don't have to comment or even read. I feel as if we spend too much time worrying about what they do...and not enough on what we're doing in our own houses. We have troops all over the Middle East (respectfully) and my own 13 year old son knows what's more important on the news.

So if you feel like I hurt your feelings because I think the girls from Jersey Shore look like masculine horses, go write them and tell them I said so...see if they care to write ya back lol.

No animals were harmed writing this disclaimer and hopefully people will think twice before complaining to me that I'm being too harsh or mean..Perez Hilton made a fortune doing exactly what I do...but I say what I want for free LOL..and will continue to do so..

Very well said and I am with you 100% on this one. I never understood "idol" worshipping or the waste of time that goes with it. I rather focus on something that's real and tangible.

Says the man who watched the MTV Movie Awards! I think you secretly love the celebrities and all that they bring into the world. I mean, I don't even watch Jersey Shore and yet, you know exactly whats going on. Interesting.... You should start you're own gossip blog. Who knows? You may even be more popular than Perez Hilton.

Celeb's put themselves out there to be the topic of public discussion. They live for it - and it doesn't matter if it is bad discussion or good. It's just the fact that they are receiving some attention. It's the old adage - bad attention is better than no attention at all.

I think it just goes to show how considerate a person you are that you even went to the trouble of writing this disclaimer. Someone may call you harsh for talking negatively about some celebrity or another but that's exactly what the world of celebrity is designed to do, to take up space in people's minds and give them things to be concerned about that should cause no concern at, all in order that that should not actually use their minds for anything worthwhile especially when it comes to unraveling the conundrums of their own lives. Why put effort into attempting to make sense of your own place in the universe when you have Charlie Sheen, or whoever the latest car wreck personality is, doing everything they can to distract you from that very practice?.........understanding yourself. The whole world of celebrity and celebrity associated issues is such a concentrated mass of negativity, like a ******* black hole, that I would argue that it is completely impossible to add anymore negativity to that situation, that which is absolute is absolute. A sponge can only hold so much water. Anyone who thinks that there is even a milligram or decency, positivity, or honesty in the world of celebrity is deluded in exactly the way the institutions that give you said celebrities desire you to be.

Celebrities, and the people who bring them to our attention, are manipulating your compassion away from where it is needed and deserved and wasting it on that which is purely cynical, and for only nefarious purposes.

let them all die, one by one, like the minions of the horrors of post-modern society that they are.

I'm with you, Bob. There are FAR more important things to spend our time on than what celebrity is sleeping with who! There are a few that I like and respect...but none of them have their personal lives splashed across the news 5 nights out of 7.

I just think they get jealous that we have so many outlets of news and sports and such...so they do these crazy stunts because they need to be in the limelight...They're ego-maniacs in my opinion...There are plenty of other things going on in the world besides them...

I'm right there with you Bob, I couldn't care less about the celebrity crowd. I think a lot of them run around doing crazy things just to keep themselves in the tabloids. I watch a little TV and like a good movie now and then but I don't follow or greatly admire any of them. The realty show people are all just about a bunch of fake drama from what I've seen and that never appeals to me. I thought your disclaimer was cute!

I do...and I watch sports and such...and some shows...but I know enough to know that the actors/actresses are doing a job..I could care less what they do after they "punch out"...
