Panic

I knew right from the beginning that it wouldn't do me any good. But I had to try it. Everyone wanted me to no matter what I said. So I passed the theoretical test with zero mistakes. Everyone was like: SEE! and then the driving came. I was having two or three lessons and panic gripped me. I was getting panic attacks in the car, couldn't concentrate von my instructor, I shouted at him and we only quarreled. In the end I was scared of every lesson and just sat round in corners crying on the day before a lesson. My therapist told me to stop it cause it would only do me harm and in that condition I wouldn't stand the test anyway. So I did. I don't know if I'll ever be able to try it again...

I have had my Permit for years, but need experience to take the BTW test. I'm 55 and my bf is 50. His ex had her license but absolutely refused to drive. She has anxiety attacks too. My daughters were slow to learn, and had no desire to at first. My middle daughter still refuses to drive, even tho she has her license and a car now. As for me, I just want to take my time and not feel pressured. This is the ONLY area of my relationship that I feel pressured in. I'm just glad I'm not alone in this and I hope we can each find our way through this valley.

I'm sorry to hear that. I used to be afraid of driving. I got over the fear though, mostly anyways. It just takes someone you trust and feel comfortable with, to help you learn every step of the way. I think someday you will be able to take those lessons again, when your ready. Best of luck!

That really sucks. I know what you mean about being scared. I drive out on the road and I get all nervous and shaky. But I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you can try for it again. :)

well good for you. :) with me ... it didn't.

i wish you all the best!!
