Well...

I don't have any children, and I don't know if I'll ever have, but...

If I had twin boys I'd name them after two of the archangels, so that their first names would be the short versions of the names, and the second names would be the long versions in a away that they'd have their brother's name combined to theirs...

For a girl I'd give either one of the traditional names which are unique for the culture where I'm living in, or some name originating from Latin or Greek words for virtues.

I'm not sure if I'd give my second name, which has been runing in my family, to my eldest son. The name itself is beautiful, but the first one to have it was my father's father, who was WW II veteran, and because of the war he had problems with alcohol and was terrible to his family. The second one to have this name is my oldest uncle, who is a good and stable person, but didn't give the name to his eldest son. I, who am the eldest child of my parents, however got the name, and am pretty messed up time to time...
