How Do Other People Do It???

I have been told that I am melodramatic and the reason I'm not happy is because I always focus on past regrets and fear of future losses, instead of on what is good TODAY and what can I do for myself TODAY.  I have heard and been told many, many times that this is the key to happiness.  But it seems an impossible task for me.  I don't know how to change the way I think.  I just tried to think of some things that make me happy, that I can focus on today, and I can't think of any.  All I can think of is my financial problems (which are large and ominous), the man who likes to hang out with me and have sex with me but wouldn't consider dating me because I'm not Armenian and he wants purebred babies, and the fact that I am very tired, and I left my laptop charger in San Diego this weekend so I can't use my laptop to work on music which IS the one thing that makes me happy.

HOW DO NORMAL PEOPLE DO IT???  It obviously comes naturally to them.  I am so f-ing depressed.

Yes, I get depressed/moody, fed up a lot. Ide like to turn my bad moods off, but how do you do that ?
