Not Really Sure

I don't know how to cheer someone up, really. I mean I try with my friends but I'm not sure if that really works. Usually, I either try to get them to talk about it or try to be funny. Sometimes they work and sometimes it doesn't, depending on who I'm with..If I'm with my friend Victoria, then I have to get her to talk about it and insult the person she's crying over but it's completely different with my friend, Margo because she doesn't really like talking about things so she always has me talk to her brother and find out through him so when I finally talk to her about it, I try to make her forget about it once and for all so that she can be happy.

When someone's crying, I don't know what to do. I take the person into my arms and hug them and stroke their hair and back trying to calm them down. It's awkward, though. When they have their hands and arms in front of their faces, it's hard to let them cry on your shoulder. I love my friends dearly but when it comes to cheering someone up, I feel that someone else should be the one to do the job, even if they come to me first.
