Mostly I'm Just Tired

A personal story in the experience: I Don't Know How to Feel
M y Girlfriend has Bi-polar Disorder.  I never know which girlfriend is going to come home.  Naturally I'm tentative when I first greet her and until I get it figured out.  This makes her angry because she tells me that I'm "holding myself back", and "walking on eggshells".

Doesn't everybody walk lightly when they are in a minefield?

If you feel that way why not leave?

Because I DO love her, and to walk away because she has a mood disorder would be no different than dumping somebody because they have cancer. It would be a rotten thing to do.

You are doing the only thing you can do in your situation.
Good luck. : )

Is she utilizing a doctor recommended treatment? All you can do is support her, but it would be wrong to stay out of obligation.......love her and make sure always that you take care of yourself too.

Actually it isn't the same as leaving someone with cancer, on some level it would be less than kind but staying isn't always the right thing to do for either of you. Is she taking meds for it, if not she should or she isn't doing her part to help the situation. That said, don't walk on eggshells, being overly nice and altering yourself to make way for her mood swings is not good for either of you.
