Never Met Him

Hi... I have never (really) met my father (the last time I supposedly saw him was when I was 4 or 5 years old). I don't even remember what he looks like - I have a few memories of situations where he was there, but I can't "see" him in those memories. Also, those memories might be "fabricated" from stories my mother told us about him. For me, not knowing my dad isn't really an issue and does not create any emotional problems (I think) ;-) I just don't know him and if I could meet him know, I probably wouldn't, because he is a complete stranger to me. (Oh, I do know his name, where he lives and what he does, that I have a stepbrother and adopted sister through him... so the option would be there.)

Still a firm no. :-) I got married this year and my husbands family were sort of pushing that we should really invite my father to the wedding. I really had never considered it, he is still a complete and utter stranger to me - therefore there was no place for him there. For me, it would have been like inviting my best friends' other friends' dad or something - he has no meaning and no connection to me. (I have to say that I am a bit of a loner anyway and don't need too many people in my life. So the idea of meeting a total stranger holds no charm for me.)
