Now What?

So, you go into life and for the first while you have everything planned out for you. You go to school, you go to school, you go to school, you go to college. You get a part-time job, you get a full-time job, you get your own apartment, you get a career. You date, you get in a relationship, you get married, you have kids.

Now except for the dating/marriage/kids part - which does not seem to be happening any time soon, if at all - I'm done. I finished the program. And now it's like I don't actually have any goals of my own and I don't know what to do with myself for the next 38 years.

This is the time in your life when you really reflect on what you're here for. Or you decide to read the whole Encyclopedia Brittanica because you have nothing better to do outside of work.

I like your comment TheParanoidAndroid..
persue each thing that makes you happy with every fibre of your being.

If only I could work out what those things are..

I know exactly what you're talking about. Life seems to be planned out for all of us.
I'm not even 17 yet and I'm already sick of all these plans that were made without my consulation. What I'm trying to do now is find out what makes me happy and what is meaningful to me, and then pursue each thing with every fibre of my being.
I mean, there's nothing else to do, right?
