I hate the idea that most doctors have of just giving out medicines like it's candy. They give you whatever medicine they think is in the general vicinity of matching your symptoms, even if you don't need it, just so they can get the money. Many people run to the doctor whenever they have the slightest ailment, and get prescribed a medicine they don't need. Tolerance of certain medications builds up in your body if you have that medicine often, then that medicine doesn't work for you anymore. Sometime within the near future, many of the most commonly prescribed medicines will have a tolerance built up against them and won't work anymore, and then these people will be in a real bind when they learn that they can't get their immediate relief.
