I Don't "hate" Music

I don't hate music, but I don't like it either. I don't even quite understand what it is that people like about it. I can identify rhythym, rhyming, "hooky" tunes and the usual components. When there's a story in the lyrics, I can appreciate that. I just don't see why it's all caught on so big, or so widespread across the whole of humanity. I especially can't stand live music or someone singing in my presence. Why? Why embarrass yourself like that, making all that noise? What makes that beautiful? Why not express yourself through normally spoken words? Word choice conveys emotion better than some sing-song melody in the background. It's like baby talk.

Despite not really getting it myself, I do understand that I'm in the minority. Feel free to listen to whatever you like, but I'll stick with news radio.
