Just Rather Leave Those Memories Alone

I have made peace with my past HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I particularly want the uncomfortable experience of running into people from my past on a regular basis. I was never the most popular kid in school and why I'm not 'forgettable', I privately do wish that those from my past would forget me or would find a way to move out of my town. Living in a town where nothing changes doesn't exactly help things either. You could say it exacerbates things. For better or worse, I have a frighteningly good memory and so my past is somewhat burned INTO that excellent memory. I actually have had to make it a point to try to deliberately forget certain things or they will keep playing on my mind over and over like an endless tape. There's a reason why they call it the past.
