I Don't Like to Take My Medications
I must have been on more than 6 different tablets for almost a decade now and still feel worn out most of the time. I often think I'd be better off not taking any as I have no idea what the combined effect of taking them all has on me. Certain tablets are to cancel out the side effects of another. I'm not happy to fill my body with unknown chemicals but my doctor says they are to safe guard my situation from getting any worse. Steroids (prednisolone) being one of them. Calcium tablets to combat osteoporosis brought on by taking steroids for a decade as well as alendronic acid tablets for the same as it has already started to affect me. Azathioprine was prescribed to cut down on the steroids but I now have to take Fluticasone nasal spray and Azithromycin which is an antibiotic to fight off any bugs I may get because my immune system has packed up due to the steroids and my underlying problem of Sarcoidosis. I'm stressed up because of all this and given Antidepressants to help me sleep, which don't work. The side effects of taking all this lot has given me a permanent dry mouth and throat which has stopped me from being able to sing, which was my job up until last year. I know there's people out there with a lot worse situations but this just seems like a total mismanagement of drugs to me and I question whether taking nothing at all would make me feel better.
