I wont deny that they are entertaining.

I just have an issue with their effect on society.  All of this exposure to themes of violence/shooting/killing people/ theft creates a sort of cold-heartedness and lack of sympathy among the younger generations.  I've seen it a lot with my male friends.  It deteriorates their values, in some ways.  I'm not sure how to describe it.  I know its just a video game, but it seems like they dont take death as seriously afterwards.  The concept doesnt mean as much.

It's true, video games do desensitize people. Me and Eric are both desensitized to violence and death. The only death that has really deeply affected me emotionally was the death of my rabbit, mostly because I felt I was responsible. We aren't completely heartless beasts, and we still feel, but we feel less emotionally when it comes to that. I think it also has to do with me and Eric's sensible personalities, but that'd probably be going off topic :p.
