Can't Miss What You Ain't Never Had

I wonder sometimes if I was born wearing a three-piece suit and using words like transmogrification and syzygy.  My parents were intellectuals, it wasn't long before I had the weight of the world on my shoulders.  Didn't laugh or smile much, thought a lot.  Brooded.  Much happened as years rolled by, most of it for the good.  One day, about 15 years ago, I read a book by Tom Robbins.  The last sentence was, "It's never too late to have a happy childhood."  I thought that was a very powerful idea.  I've been having a happy childhood ever since.  So, as I'm not done having it, I can't miss it.

It's fun to say, looks good on a Scrabble board - and the meaning is very nice.

Syzygy! Dude, I think that is my new favorite word!

A genius who can laugh - not at others but with others - now you've really got something. Lucky you!

I hope one day I am ready to live my childhood. In the meantime, I feel I may be going in the right direction.

OK, I admit, I had to look up syzygy.<br />
There is no reason an intellectual can't have fun, but it does often seem to be the case. My significant other, though, has a genius IQ, a PhD, and I laugh more with him than I have with anyone.
