I'm Old-fashioned

I see myself as that old guy who sits on his rocker, telling kids "when I was your age, videophones were a thing of science fiction" and they'll think I'm weird or out of touch. It's true, though. I grew up with the impression that they'd never catch on.

Fast forward about 2 decades and....they're here! Well not exactly but thanks to the internet we can place video-calls to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Not only is it here but it's so popular that I rarely go a day without hearing/reading "wanna Skype?" Yeah...I would but I'm not photogenic, I'm camera-shy, and when I "hang out" with a friend I don't want the focus of our time together to be on our faces, as if we're in the same room sitting directly in front of each other.

That being said, I have actually Skyped a few times but with only one person that I'm very comfortable around. Maybe I'll do it again sometime but I'm not the type of person to put myself out there willy-nilly.
