I'm Stronger Than That!

I don't think I'll ever smoke weed.

I suffer from anxiety problems and I used to be severely depressed and from what I've casually read or heard about it, weed can help to develop these problems (did I word that right?). I don't want to make these things worse, I want to get rid of them! Depression and anxiety aren't the only things though, schizophrenia is also included in that list along with other psychotic disorders that can develop if you smoke weed.

There's also respiratory problems that can occur if you smoke it, obviously.

Yes, some people who take weed don't develop these problems, but I'm not going to take any chances. I'd rather not risk it. What I say to people who do take it is go ahead but don't come crying to me if something goes wrong and you end up with one or more of these problems. I think all users should do some research before taking the drug to find out if it's really worth it because if they don't they might end up regretting it.

Who wants their life taken over by a drug anyway? I'm stronger than that! I don't need a drug to make me happy.

This article http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-pro-marijuana-arguments-that-arent-helping/ (why does EP only allow links in blogs?) pretty much sums up my views on the pro marijuana argument, especially this: Pot is not as bad as heroin. That isn't my point. But don't go the other way and start acting like the **** is ******* broccoli.

Im happy that you didnt change your mind. Yes it can be beneficial but that has solely to do with YOU and your body's chemistry. I have depression and anxiety and ive smoked it, I was told it would calm me down, all it did was make me paranoid and giggle a lot. If you dont feel you need it then dont take it.

You don't have to smoke to use cannabis. You can vapourise, cook, or make tinctures with alcohol or glycerine.
It wouldn't suit you anyway, from the sounds of it. It doesn't go well with anxiety and depression.

I think the biggest problem with it is that people are using it when they are too young. Drugs are not for kids and can cause brain development problems, like spaceman says, the endo-canabiniod system needs to be properly balanced. I wouldn't approve of anyone under 21 using cannabis.
I think another problem with it is that it is illegal, which puts pressure on the growers to produce cannabis that is as strong as posssible- meaning that the THC which gets you stoned is not properly balanced with the anti-psychotic CBD. The government-run grow-houses are producing strains of weed that are very strong in ^both^ THC and CBD and so would be much safer, but they won't release this. They only want depressing weed on the black market that they created so they can continue to demonise it. =(
