Sales Pitch In My Ep Inbox
I received a message in my EP Inbox this morning that has prompted me to draw attention to another abuse of the Experience Project, that of sales and marketing pitches.
Just so we are clear, I find these messages OFFENSIVE, and particularly when they are coming from those who don't even know me, unwarranted.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.
To those who are posting these things in this inappropriate manner:
You have the WHOLE INTERNET to pitch your services and products and stuff to.
Go take your sales and marketing messages THERE, please.
Or go build your own web site. If I want your product, I'll go find it.
Thanks,
marcus

Posted May 16th, 2008 at 3:51PM haven't had any in a while now. but when I get them, and I have gotten them from *TWO* people here (who shall remain EP-profile-nameless - LOL), they are MOST annoying. They ALWAYS occur when you haven't even gotten to know them yet, either! Not that that justifies that behaviour.... :(
Posted May 16th, 2008 at 4:34PM Do you know what I find curious and annoying? All the people that set up EP accounts just to sell things in their blogs. From realtors to dentists, dog trainers to software salespeople, it`s all there in the blogs... They don't interact with the EP, but enter blog after blog of stuff they're trying to sell. You can find this stuff in the recent blogs section. Kind of against the point of the EP, and that`s why it bugs me.
Posted May 16th, 2008 at 5:24PM, last updated May 16th, 2008 at 5:24PM Cinderelly: I agree, 100%. It doesn't surprise me that people are using their blogs for this purpose. And they have a convenient "excuse" in saying that their own personal affairs are as simple as that, even though these pitches run counter to EP-interactions. Either way, whether it is via the personal messaging system or via a public one, in blogs (public or friends only) or stories, hardly a desirable state of affairs, ignored or not... ;] It bugs me too. But some opinions, no doubt, will differ...
