Ever Since I Can Remember..

It takes quite a bit of time for me to be able to trust someone.

It sounds bad, but I sorta put people on a...trial basis.  I'll just them just a little, then a little bit more.

I will not fully trust a person, till I've known them for at least a year.

This has frustrated people that I've known.  One girl in particular hated it.  She expressed to me how much it hurt her that I would feel that way about her, that it'd take that long for me to trust her.

She stuck by me though and while sticking around learned why I had such trust issues.

We'd still be friends I'm sure, if outside circumstances didn't pull us apart. (lots of moving to different places)

I don't see this as a bad thing. It is a mature and reasonable response to walking through this world with your eyes open. Trust is and should be a earned commodity. Those who think otherwise are doomed to disappointment and pain. In my humble opinion.<br />
