Ok Here's The Thing...

Let me say this first: I don't hate music. I listen to it from time to time and enjoy it. But I'm one of the seemingly rare few for whom music does not exactly... matter.  Music has just never been something I've ever really payed attention to.  I have lived life blissfully ignorant of popular music. I have never listened to Skrillex or Coldplay. I have listened to the Red Hot Chili Peppers only when they were played on friends' ipods. (And for the record, this is just what I percieve as "popular," so don't say that i dont like music because ive never heard the "right kind.") I myself own an ipod, but it's full of audiobooks. And to be perfectly honest, I prefer it that way. I know music is a huge facet of human culture, but I've tried it and it just never really worked for me. It just could not hold my interest. So thus comes the moral of my story: some people just dont like music and shouldn't be persecuted thus. Taste is incredibly relative. Just because you like something doesn't mean everyone has to. Honestly, I have trouble understading why people like music so much instead of reading books. Do i think there is something wrong with them, preferring to listen to paltry melodies rather than immersing themselves in rich worlds of story and adventure and imagination? No. Some can't live without music. Others can. It's all a matter of preference.
