The Human Condition

I've been compassionate all of my life. It's as much a part of me as breathing. I thought everyone lived their lives in this manner. I don't understand people who look at another human being, and not feel anything. Do you not expect others to be compassionate towards you? How lonely and cold it must be in their world. Because I am compassionate, that is how I would perceive their world. No thank you.

I agree with you that compassion is a very important part of our human virtue. People can't always do as much as we think they should, but intentional cruelty is nothing more than a savage re-assuring him/herself that they can't be harmed.
