Labor and Delivery Nurse

I'm so relieved there are other people out there who feel the way I do!! I love babies and I adore my job as a labor and delivery nurse. Truth be told, I tear up at most of my deliveries. But I don't want the experience for myself. I have worried that this may make me seem selfish but I've arrived at a new thought: it would be incredibly unfair if we had children because "that's what we're supposed to do." My husband is in the same mind set that I am. I've never wanted to be a 'Mommy.' I love holding the babies and eventually want to be a NICU nurse but I'm perfectly happy NOT having kids.

I watched my sisters struggling with kids and decided that it probably wasn't a good idea to take it on unless you had a lot of stamina and patience.
Kids can be great fun, but I am glad that I'm not inflicting my genes on any.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with not wanting children!
Some people do, some people don't. Don't feel guilty, enjoy your life and if you want to spend some time with a child, borrow one. A sweet one though, not a monster :) and then send them back. There are many joys and many sorrows being a mother. Believe me. I sometimes think if I could do it over, I'd have no children. Mainly because the world is so messed up but that's just me! Enjoy your life, girl! Don't let anyone make you feel bad about your decision
