I understand where you are coming from but I disagree because I believe the issue is with people who speak in the way they choose to act and speak. They need to realize that they are not the only ones who matter in the world. It is the morons who need to leave and stay away. This isn't a p orn/adult site and I am not going to move. Neither should children be restricted.

Children are not living in a world where we can pretend that moron's don't exist. The only thing we can do is prepare them by explaining what to do or say when confronted by them. It is ridiculous to pretend that cursing does not exist and most children are familiar with curse words, right or wrong, early on in life. Most teens curse if it is a normal thing with the friends they hang out with.

This site is here to help and assist people. Teens need the greatest assistance, so I am thankful they can come here to receive it. Well they may or may not receive it, but that is true about any place they seek help. It is up to those of us who are members to stand together against the abusive people, who aren't here to help or be helped. So whether we step up and say something and/or do something (report) when we see or encounter abusive people, it is everyone's responsibility. I have personally spoke up against abusive people on here and I have no problem doing again.

I understand what you are saying and I agree to a degree.. But I am scared of child molesters exploiting children on here.. In my other story, where I was kidnapped, a ep member, sent me a private message asking me if I want a chat from perpetrators to victim.. We talked for hours... He was a peadophile and offered me the opportunity to ask him question... I did and it was very good of him to let me understand why he did it to little girls... That showed me there are real peadophile on here, and that scared me for the young teens.. I have talked to some and advise them, but I dread that one day it will be a child molester who advise them...
That's all... Not everybody on the site have good advise to give...
I might not have explained myself properly in my story, sorry..
Thank you for being honest and having written to me..

I respect your right to agree to disagree.

That really sucks that you had to learn there are p edo's on here but hopefully you learned from it.

I have been molested in real life and already knew they exist. And trust me, you didn't learn anything from that monster. A liar never tells the truth. Want to know when they are lying? Anytime their lips are moving. It doesn't matter why he did what he did. That is the truth.

The bottom line is teens are allowed on here and we must find a way to deal with that. And that is why I believe and do the things I do. I could wish that
p edo's didn't exist all day (and God knows I pray for their souls) but that would not address anything in reality. They do exist, we can only be as prepared as we can be and stand together against them. With God, nothing is impossible.

P edo's exist and they can be hiding anywhere. The solution is not being so afraid you hide. The solution is becoming smarter and stronger. The only way I have found that is possible is through Jesus.

I feel the age for all social media sites should be at least 16. I don't know how this could be solved though because kids just get on there and lie anyway. I suppose it boils down to parents' responsibilities to monitor their kids' online activities. I firmly believe young children should not have smart phones and ipods at their disposal; having 24/7 access to the internet is not healthy or safe. My bf says I am a little old fashioned. I just want my child to be able to communicate successfully face-to-face or in a letter with a stamp on it, like nature intended! LOL

I think you are very right saying its up to the parents to check what their kids are doing... I know some children of 7 years old who have a Facebook account and were friend with my son who is 14.. I told him to delete all the kids that were not around his age and the ones he never talk to at school, as they are not his friends.. Which actually reminds me to check his friend list again..
Thank you very much for your comment..

this is the anonymous internet. anyone can claim whatever. including 12 year olds saying they're 16. or 40 year olds pretending to be 14 and befriending real kids.
blocking kids from websites isn't going to work, they will always find a way around.
like you said, it has to be the parents, educating their children to the dangers of the net (and the real world too).

I don't know about raising the age for adulthood back to age 21, but I do agree with viv69

There is a facility to check the box if it is inappropriate for under 18..

I agree! that are many children on here, some very young (below the age limit). They are smart enough to just list their age at 18 or above. The age of "adulthood" should be raised back to 21 at least and maybe 35 or 40 (given how some people act!)
