Is There a Bright Side? Or Just a Way to Cope?

It scares me too.  It's a combination of the physical and the mental.  The physical is going to get worse. The mental part - just when you're old and saggy enough to start focusing as much on your mental well-being as you should, you are getting closer to dementia.

I wasn't trying to be funny but it kind of is.

The only 'coping' mechanism I can think of is the fact that we have no fricking choice in the matter.  We can either be overwhelmed by the reality of aging and death or accept it.

I think the biggest plus of acceptance is that you'll grow and enjoy more because you're not so stifled by fear of not growing or enjoying.

I say this but it takes a lot of effort for me:
--to really try to appreciate every day
--to recognize that I really did take advantage of every day, and
--to not feel guilty or depressed if I spent the whole day eating chocolate in bed =)

Amen. A good bed and a piece of chocolate. Just add friendship and it's heaven on earth.
