I Hate 'em

Most holidays are about families and loving, right? I hate that since it seems like each holiday, you are expecting to spend a lot of money, or buy gifts. I come from a distant family and I really have no money. When Christmas comes around, my mother yells at me for not having a job even though I apply everyday and have been in that long struggle to at least get something. Not to mention, my mom thinks lotto tickets are an appropriate gift. Sorry, but I don't really like to gamble on those things. One year, I wanted to a new pair of shoes for my birthday. Instead she buys a bunch of lotto tickets. I cried in my room later that night.

Meanwhile on facebook, all my friends will share what they did for the holidays and it was all joy and fun. What did I do? Sit in front of my laptop which needs to be replaced and wonder why my family and my life is so f'ed up.

I think most people only post happy moments. I'm sure many more are as unhappy as you( and I! Lol) are.
I put the happy people on hide so I don't have to see it.

Sorry to read your story and i think getting lotto tickets for gifts must be such an insult, and you cant be expected to find a job in this economic climate, as they just aint there.
Not good parenting skills on the part of your mother i feel.
Parents are under huge pressure these days, but that is not a correct loving way to treat you.
