y Dad had one though. This was a real Beetle, not one of the new fake ones which is just a Golf with a different body shell. The engine was in the back, see?
By the way, you know it's Volkswagen, right? Of course you do.

 | Posted Nov 19th, 2008 at 5:49PM We had a 56 ragtop -- black with red leather interior! She was a beauty, but hard to drive and no seatbelts!! And the front seats just flipped forward -- no button to push or latch to keep them in place. If we had ever gotten hit, those seats would have sling shot us out the windshield!! LOL |
 | Posted Nov 19th, 2008 at 5:55PM I drive a ugly 67 right now...Needs body work...But I keep her running....Herbie....That is what people that I work with call my bug.....It is so great...But the bad part is...It is a one year model for rear aprons...and every time I get the dents hammered out of it...Someone else gives me a tap...So I have just given up on it for time...But she is my eveready bunny car...She just keeps going..and going..and going....And no matter what she looks like...Everyone honks and gives me the thumbs up...So I know that even ugly...She is a wonderful car... |
