Does this mean that you "graduated" by finally discovering the difference between intelligence and an education.

I think it's hilarious that the picture for the "story" is of Bill Gates. Ha ha!! It could the de Dell guy too, he's a dropout, and many many many more................... But, you know, we're still very stubbornly sticking to the power of the degree/paper, at least on some environments. I'm glad you got a great job. Excellent!

I agree with your definition of success. Now how to convince my family of that...

Interesting way to phrase it. I'm not so familiar with your writing -- was checking out how the heck anyone could accidentally pee on a cat, but I've done this one. A few times.

The first time: because I didn't feel like I knew what direction I wanted to go in life. It bothered me that I was wasting money. ( That was University of Houston )

The second time: because I couldn't assimilate as a 30-something into a community college environment. ( Austin Community College )

And the last time: because I ran out of disposable income. ( Also Austin Community College )

.. but... I'm finding that a lack of degree isn't slowing me down like one might think. Landed a great job. They were more interested in how I'd contributed to my field than the level of my acquired eduction. I wouldn't recommend it, but not all stories that like it end badly.

I don't know if I will be getting back around to college again. Seems kind of pointless, at this point in my life: today's 'job security' is really about building up vocational networks and building up a story of chapters of accomplishments in prior positions. It seems counter-intuitive to give up time that I can make money to learn to make money in time.

    Best of luck to you.

thanks guys. for me success = happiness and happiness = success, regardless of the amount of money one makes.

So what, you're the next Bill Gates or something?

But hey, if that's what makes you happy - Congratulations !

Quirkygirl, do you actually want to make an a** out of yourself, or can you not help it?

Anyway, sorry about that CC. Congratulations on graduating. I wish you the best of luck in finding the job you want. :)
