I Dropped Out..

I recently dropped out of high school. I was in my senior year, with only 5 months left. I know it seems really pathetic, I've heard it many times. The reason I dropped was because I have anxiety issues and recently they have gotten worse and I started missing so many days. I would get in trouble for it and no one could understand why. I also have ADHD and I would rarely pay attention, my grades were always a c average. I couldn't understand things and its hard for me to sit in a class for an hour and pay attention. I get bored very easily. I have always had that problem since I was in grade school. I would have dropped out earlier but I was too worried about what people would think about me and especially my dad, I didn't want him to be mad at me. So I stuck around longer. Nothing ever got better I just missed more days than what I used to and I hated every second of it. I just wanted to get out of there. I started looking around on the Internet at these stories and I could relate to a lot of them so I was just like I'm done caring. I'm just going to do it. So I did. I plan on saving money to get an online diploma, and going on to college.

I want to drop out so bad, for many of the same reasons

Are you me?

I dropped out when I was 15 due to similar issues I think its the best thing I ever did

Same here. Public school isn't for everyone. And for those of us it isn't for it's VERY not for us.

Same here, accept I just turned 16. I'm very intelligent and capable of success but I let my anxiety get the best of me.

I dropped out my Sophomore year of HS. It was a waste of time. I worked some crappy jobs and traveled around for a few years until I was 19, then I got my GED and went to community college. I finished my AA with a 4.0 and lots of universities were trying to recruit me because I joined an honor society. Now I'm almost done with my Bachelors degree at the University of Washington and plan on transferring universities to get my Masters in Teaching in the fall.

Did you sign papers to get out ? and what month you got out?
