Music Can Send Your Emotions Any Which Way...

I used to use a 2 hour reel to reel set to record music on various radio stations that played songs uninterrupted. I'd do to work and then when I got home, I'd preview the songs. If I felt the beat of any song uplift me, in one of those, "get up and dance" modes, I'd dub it over to another tape. Eventually, I got several reel of upbeat music to play at parties. Of course what is upbeat to me may not be the same for someone else. But it always seemed to get a party going....dancing and singing along.

Now I'm not the type of person who knows all the artists and all the names of songs. I just feel when something makes me tap my foot or want to get up and conquor the world. Ahhh, the good ole days. I just don't think a lot of the new music is as inspirational as it was back in the 60's, 70's and 80's on such a consistanat basis.

There are other kinds of music that effect me in a different manner. Some make me sad, some is inspirational in a loving of life way....hard to explain sometimes. But I like it.

I happened to stumble across a song that for whatever reason felt ... I don't know... a sense of life. It's maybe the way it touches...a good way, a combination of happy mellow... I can't remember where I heard it. I hate that...you hear something and just feel a need to find it. Well I tried to remember who produced it and with a few trials and errors found it. I sometimes think I'm google lucky when searching....

I think at first it reminded me of "Minstral Boy" from BlackHawk Down; but then went it's own way.

It vocals were in Bengali and the song is called Praan. I found the translation and here are the lyrics translated into English.

Praan

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.

Now to something upbeat... :)

Music has a special place in my life. There are times when music makes my mood and there are times when my mood makes me pick specific music. I love the ways it enhances my experiences and feelings. I wish more people can have such an appreciation for music. I think life would be so much more colorful.

I'm not sure if this will work. A bit of a catchy tune....and probably should be dedicated to the ILIASM experience. lol
I'm with you on this, Sir:) I also love the lyrics, and personally am enthralled often to find translation of them in a song. I think because I forget that likely in the mother-tongue of the lyricist, the whole thing rhymed and had some semblance of meter. However, when put into my own language, so I know what was meant by the words chosen, it has none of that.
But sometimes the lyrics are so hauntingly perfect it matters not that they could never cram themselves into a treble or bass line of sorts to issue a true song...for they are the embodiment of art for the sake of telling a story, seeking a truth to be embraced by the listener...that sort of communication that knows no boundaries. Such is music, itself. Nice story, Sir:) Thank you for sharing it here:) Enjoyed very much:)

some songs or melodies just suit us,, they suit our personalities and make us happy about our lives and make us want to celebrate something, it is like we are connected to that feeling of power, serenity, calm, maybe even anger, but we feel its us its who we are and you want people to see it like you do but thats them and you are you. and my conclusion is i understand how you feel and i agree some music just gets your feelings going again :)
