A Tasty, Unusual Main Dish.............picadilly...........

The ingredients may sound odd to you, but it is is worth trying!

1 lb. hamburger

2 onions

2 apples

14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes ...juice too

Can diced green chilies. ( I use a large can because I adore them. )

1 tsp. cumin

I tsp. cinnamon

Fry the burger, salting and pepper to taste. Transfer to a sauce pan with a lid. Add: chopped onions and apples, tomatoes, chilies and spices. DO NOT ADD ANY EXTRA MOISTURE. Cover and cook down until you like the consistency. I like it a bit chunky, if cooked too long, it will turn to baby food.

I serve it over mashed potatoes, rice,or noodles...it is good in tortillas. It is good as the filling in oven baked sandwiches, or just on a SPOON! Very savory.

My best to you.....

Apples, cinnamon and hamburger? Who are you?? Never heard of this...is it a family thing? Apples? Really? :)

I think they said "sugar" and Kathie thought they said "burger."

I like picadilly...I will share some recipes with you if you like. I owned my own catering business and love to cook.

Mmmmmm, PICADILLY. I have some cooking down on the stove as I type this. The house smells so fragrant, so homey. I will crisp up some tortillas, and make tostadas. Lucky meeeeeee.

I have to admit you were right...............it sounds odd. BUT..I will have to give it a try to be sure! :)

It's really good, at least I think so. I would make it for you if we lived close!
