I Eras' End
Eras’ end
End of an era
End of myself
Teetering on the edge, falling over
Sliding off and onto, into the aether
Eras’ end
End of contorted nothingness
End of accomplishing nothing worthwhile
End of emptiness and disgrace
What have I to show for myself these last few years?
Eras’ end
I’m lost to my own heart
Stumbling along blindly
An echo and a shadow of myself
Eking out a baleful existence
Eras’ end
An era defined by lack and short and perhaps
An era of bitterness and resentment
An era of abject and pathetic sorrows
An era of tortured existence, just barely breathing
Eras’ end
To cross over is my great desire
To become
To engage in life anew
With limited time allotted
Eras’ end
When will it begin?
My hope and my prayer
My earnest and sincere desire
For a new and early dawn
Eras’ end
Rising from the ashes of destruction
Beginning afresh after disastrous defeat
Truly, truth is sought after desperately
Truly, truth is my strongest desire
Eras’ end
For to from what was then once was
And now to where then that shall be
To will and to win a prize of accomplishment
That one soul might forever be saved from bitter destruction
Eras’ end
An end to pity and remorse
An end to sorrowful refrains
An end to mourning and darkness
An end to sadness and shame
Eras’ end
Oh, that I might hope again
Oh, that light would draw me in
For I cannot go alone or on my own initiative
I must be called for by my name
Eras’ end
Please call for me, my God!
Please send forth for me and invite me near
Please speak forth my name, that I be not forgotten
Please send to me immediate and lasting help
Eras’ end
Oh my God, that You would entreat me
To exist in Your existence
To abide in Your presence
To dwell in Your courts
Eras’ end
Jesus I call upon Your name
For You are
Therefore I call upon you earnestly
In deep humility and bowed heart
Eras’ end
Only You, my Lord, can help me
Only You, my Jesus, can save me
Only You, my God, can heal me
Only You, O Lord, for You are God
