I had a friend for over 10 years who is a Jehovah Witness. We studied the bible together for the past year. I must say I learned much about the bible; however, their books and material all lead to the WatchTower Society wanting you to join their organization. I refused to join the organization because this friend started pressuring me to go door to door with her. She proceeded to tell me I needed to make a decision about joining regardless of what my husband or family thought about it. JW's take the bible very seriously. I felt like I was dancing with the devil. Afterall, one only needs to break apart the word Jehovah to find out that 'Hovah' in Hebrew means 'wickedness/ruin; therefore, I can't imagine why anyone would want to worship the name Jehovah. I myself will worship Yahweh and I don't need a organization dictating how I need to live my life. JW's are door to door salespeople for the WatchTower Society. Reader Beware!

Tetragrammaton ---- I have no clue what this is, I think it means Jehovah Witness failed alot of people thus buying believers. I am guessing at this interpretation. I care about Jesus Christ, Nothing else, no re-written bibles by mormons, Jehovah Witness, or any other cults. Full Gospel is the only way to go, Pure Christian has light that no one explains, Jehovah Witness only help their own, note, "Their", True Christian helps a person in trouble, changing a flat tire, or helping out of heart to feed hungry where a check is rejected, thus shows true compassion, that is one of the fruits of Jesus Christ. Not Jehovah Witness. You all know where I am going to stand, I stand for Jesus Christ. This is my last word.

one thing I did not mention, Revelation, speaks, any man takes away or adds to the book of God, Jesus the Great White Throne Judge will do the same back to man. Oh yes, Man can make blasphamy, Jesus is the one with the last word. :) End of discussion.

I could careless about Jehovah Witness visiting my door trying to push their ways into my home and then dictate their organization is superior to any Godly organization or churches. The true church is going to be tested, all other churches are going to be tested, True church which is the church of the Living Jesus Christ, God, son of God, and the True judge at the end of the 1611 KJV texts of Revelation will judge all mankind, Let Jehovah Witness judge and pervert the man's law toward their favor. It is the Great Throne aka Thronos judgement where the Creator will have the last word. Did I mention books will be opened. Jehovah can record my name in their Watch Tower headquarters. I will tell you this, Its coming, maybe my lifetime, maybe in other people's lifetime, a dramatic change will take place, and all sickness, adherring to a clique, or cliche will come to a screaching halt. Jesus is God eternal, everlasting, From the past, right now, and the future. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the LIFE, no man or woman comes to the father but by him. Jehovah witness counter beliefs this. Let one come marching into my home, they will be asked kindly to leave. Just my two cents.

Not only is he a troll, he's multi- accounting and even setting up bogus arguments back and forth. I like how he often uses horrible sentence structure, and misspelling on purpose in many of these pseudo accounts in an effort to throw people off. He thinks because he purposely screws up the spelling on an obscure quote people won't figure it out when one of his monikers uses the same albeit horribly butchered.

Obviously somebody educated beyond his intelligence.

You raise an interesting issue. In the Hebrew language, God's personal name is written יְהוָ֑ה. These four letters, called the Tetragrammaton, are read from right to left in Hebrew and can be represented in many modern languages as YHWH or JHVH. God's name, represented by these four consonants, appears almost 7,000 times in the original "Old Testament," or Hebrew scriptures. In English, the Tetragrammaton is translated “Jehovah”. Thus, there's no legitimate reason why any English translator should render the Tetragrammaton as anything else but "Jehovah" especially since the Hebrew word for "Lord" is אדני not יְהוָ֑ה.

"God is not a God of confusion" we read at 1 Corinthians 14:33. As such, determining who the one true God is should be simple. Thankfully, all we need to do is look in the Bible for the correct answer -

    1. Jesus was Jehovah God's very first creation - Proverbs 8:22-31; Colossians 1:15-17; Revelation 3:14

    2. At John 20:17 Jesus said to Mary Magdalene: "I am ascending [] to my God and your God." (RS, Catholic edition)

    3. "Blessed be the God [] of our Lord Jesus Christ." - 2 Corinthians 1:3

    4. "O my God, my Holy One, you do not die." - Habakkuk 1:12

    5. "God [] resurrected [Jesus]." (Acts 2:24)

    6. "The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him." (Revelation 1:1, RS, Catholic edition)

    7. "God exalted this one [Jesus] to his right hand." (Acts 5:31)

    8. "God exalted him [Jesus] to a superior position." (Philippians 2:9)

    9. “Christ [] entered heaven itself, so that he could appear in the actual presence of God." (Hebrews 9:24, JB)

    10. “[Stephen] gazed into heaven and caught sight [] of Jesus standing at God's right hand." (Acts 7:55)

    11. "You [Jesus] loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with [the] oil of exultation more than your partners." - Hebrews 1:9

    12. "After that will come the end, when he [Jesus in heaven – Michael the Archangel] will hand over the kingdom to God [] Then the Son himself will be subjected to the One who has subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all."—1 Corinthians 15:24, 28, NJB.

    13. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." - Ephesians 1:3

    14. “No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.” - John 1:18

    15. Jesus himself taught that no "man has seen the Father" - John 6:46.

    16. "The head of the Christ is God" in the same way that "the head of every man is the Christ." (1 Corinthians 11:3)

    17. Jesus said, "The Father is greater than I."—John 14:28, RS, Catholic edition.

    18. "If by one man’s trespass many died, the undeserved kindness of God and his free gift with the undeserved kindness by the one MAN Jesus Christ abounded much more to many." - Romans 5:15

    19. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a MAN, Christ Jesus." - 1 Timothy 2:5

    20. “In reply Jesus said to [Satan]: “It is written, ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”” - Luke 4:8

20.1. “Jehovah your God you should fear, and him you should serve.” - Deuteronomy 6:13

    21. Jesus taught, “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’” - Matthew 22:37

21.1. “You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your vital force.” - Deuteronomy 6:5

What can we conclude from everything the Bible teaches? That Jesus never claimed to be God. Everything he said about himself indicates that he did not consider himself equal to God in any way—not in power, not in knowledge, not in age. In every period of his existence, whether in heaven or on earth, his speech and conduct reflect subordination to God. God is always the superior, Jesus the lesser one who was created by God.

Time and again, Jesus showed that he was a creature separate from God and that he, Jesus, had a God above him, a God whom he worshiped, a God whom he called "Father." In prayer to God, that is, the Father, Jesus said, "You, the only true God." (John 17:3) At John 20:17 he said to Mary Magdalene: "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God." (RS, Catholic edition) At 2 Corinthians 1:3 the apostle Paul confirms this relationship: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Since Jesus had a God, his Father, he could not at the same time be that God.

Lol, it's not something you "jump right in and do". It takes time and effort. Some take months while others take years, decades even. I've been in the process of doing so for over a year now and hope to become one very soon :)

You're right. As the article pointed out only an understanding and belief in basic Bible principles is required - not an all encompassing understanding of it. I'm working on resolving certain personal matters that will make my life be more in harmony with these principles. For me, representing God to others is a great and serious responsibility. It's not one I take lightly :)

I cannot identify myself as a member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses because I'm not yet a member. As soon as I'm done sorting out the personal issues I'm working on I will meet the necessary requirements and can join the wonderful international family of Jehovah's Witnesses :)

That is a common misconception. Jesus himself explains, "“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness." (Matthew 7:21-23) As Jesus explains here, only those who do God's will are acceptable to Him :)

You don't need to be perfect to do God's will. None of the faithful Israelites or first century Christians were yet they are set as examples for us all to follow. When asked on the matter Jesus himself said “Exert yourselves vigorously to get in through the narrow door, because many, I tell YOU, will seek to get in but will not be able." (Luke 13:23,24) Doing God's is challenging not because God expects too much of us but because the overwhelming majority of the world is against doing so :)

Max, something you might want to consider and study, in the Old testament all of the prophecies that are told of Yeshua refer to him as Lord (Adoni in hebrew). However, the translators in 99% of the cases changed it. They name in the original hebrew text was YHVH but changed to Adoni. What does this mean? It means that it will be Yhvh that stands on the mount of olives.

Yahweh has not shared with me yet the deep understand of it all. Here is what I do know for sure. Yeshua came to pay the penalty of death for my sins. That's what really matters.

This is a mystery, but there are contradictions of Yeshua saying that he is God. When there is a contradiction it's our duty to some deep studying until there is no longer a contraction.

Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?”
33 The Jews answered Him, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.”
34 Jesus answered them, “Has it not been written in your Law, ‘I SAID, YOU ARE GODS’?
35 “If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),
36 do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
      37 “If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;
38 but if I do them, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.”

He is called Immanuel which means, God among us.

New American Standard Bible : 1995 update. 1995 (Jn 10:32–38). LaHabra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.

Our english bibles have a ton of translation errors. IE: people say it says we should worship on sunday because the bible says the disciples were gathered on the first day of the week. However, in the greek it actually says, they were gathered on the first of the sabbaths. Sabbaths (plural) was changed to week for some reason. So, they were together on the passover.

The very first Christians were also regarded as a cult - just as we are today. Jehovah God's enemies said of the early Christians: “Truly as regards this sect it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against.” (Acts 28:22) Paul and Silas were accused of having “overturned the inhabited earth,” acting “in opposition to the decrees of Caesar.” (Acts 17:6, 7) Such false accusations did not prevent the early Christians from carrying out their commission to preach the good news of the Kingdom. In 60-61 C.E., Paul was able to speak of the “good news” that was “bearing fruit and increasing in all the world” and that had been “preached in all creation that is under heaven.” (Col. 1:5, 6, 23) Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses are being falsely accused, even as the first-century Christians were. Yet, the work of preaching the Kingdom message prospers and brings those who share in it much happiness.

You are a troll and a perverter of the truth. If you do not believe that Jesus was God and was withGod from the beginning, was born Gods only son, sacrificed himself for our sins, died on the cross, and was resurected to prove he was God in man's form, all to save us, then you are NOT a Christian. And yes every word of this is really in the Bible, which you also pervert for your own purpose. Oh and btw, I HAVE read the Bible, have over twenty versions of it INCLUDING the JW flavor. You are a FALSE witness and God will say to you "Depart from me, I never knew you" Also in the Bible.

Jesus taught, "“Happy are YOU when people reproach YOU and persecute YOU and lyingly say every sort of wicked thing against YOU for my sake. Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens; for in that way they persecuted the prophets prior to YOU." (Matthew 5:11,12) So thank you for your hateful, venomous comments. Congrats on being a Jehovah Witness in the future, Look for Sorrows for happiness, Despair vs hope, being shackled with manmade doctrines being shoved down your throat and being brainwashed by a man made cult who has no clue what Jesus Christ is and the true 1611 KJV bible truly is. Yes, Man wrote the bible, It goes out to say that there were men whom had the Holy Ghost that is prophesied in the book of Acts 2:38, Be ye baptized in the name of JESUS. wow, that name is stronger than any organization who joins UN in the name of NGO. Jesus Christ is the best prince of peace, love, counselor, Oh yes, try a simple prayer in the name of Jesus, The prayer works wonders. I strongly challenge you to find Jesus while you can. Jehovah Witness never had anything to do with me since the memorial, I do not want to join their organization. IF they want to disfellowship from me, Fine, If they want to ignore me in public, thats fine, If they want to refuse blood donations, thats fine, what really matters is whats in the heart. Not on the outside. that is our clue sherlock, Man is busy looking on the outside while its decaying and showing wrinkles of tribulations, The heart needs nurturing. It needs Jesus. Enough ranting for the day. Have a good day Jesus Bless you, Jesus bless everyone.

If you had you family destroyed by Jehovah's Witnesses would you endorse them? I'm sure you wouldn't. My family was brainwashed and splintered and we are no longer a family so I believe the organisation is the work of SATAN and all his underworld. I'm proud that some of my family members eventually got out of the cult but I HATE them for what they did to us all. The ELDERS try to make out that they are better than the rest but when they go out screwing some other than their wives you really wonder

I'm very sorry for your experience. It is, however, inconsistent with what the overwhelming majority of Jehovah's Witnesses and their families experience. As they say, there are three sides to every story. I'm sure that if we heard the other's side your family would turn out to be as much to blame for the way things turned out :)
