A Little Bio

I'm not used to talking about myself so much anymore. But here goes...

I'm a 55 YO lesbian who came out when I was 19 YO. In an all women's college. You really can't do much better than that.

I live out in rural NM w/my partner of 12 years. I have 14 acres, 2 dogs & 4 mammoth donkeys.

I am deeply concerned about the well-being of the planet, but I've let go of the human-hatred that so often seems to accompany that. I do wish we could be wiser (& fewer), but I love us as a species anyway.

Because of my concern, I have a large garden & try to grow some of our own food, so that we may contribute less to the harm of transporting food to our area. It's a bit of a shabby effort, but nonetheless an important one for me.

Gardening also keeps me connected to just how hard it is to stay alive, how living means killing, whether it's earthworms as I turn the compost in, or gophers, or a carrot. My life is dependent on the sacrifice of the lives of others. So I owe those lives & try to manifest my life accordingly.

I'm also very concerned for my fellow countrymen & women returning home from war, the suffering they carry. I don't know how I can help or support them in my small community, but I am keeping my eyes & ears open for opportunity.
