New Snow

We've been suffering from an extended drought, the native plants & grasses are dying, the earth left bare. It's so hard to see. We've gone months w/out moisture & finally yesterday we got SNOW!!! The weather report predicted only an inch or so, but we got about 6 inches. It's so lovely, not just because the first snow makes the world look so fresh & clean, but because it's moisture to nourish the soil & plants. Not much once it melts, but every little bit counts!

I've started writing my holiday cards, the lights are up on the house, & soon I'll get to the baking for gifts for friends & neighbors. It's nice to have the energy for the holidays for a change. The last couple of years have been real downers & a little joy makes a nice change.

I wish I was there, but I'm in Florida. Right now, thunderstorms and about 80 degrees, really makes me feel that Christmas spirit?
