Solo Boot Camp Training Tips?

My first Random article-
On February 13, 2012, I signed up for Job Corps –military/ government/ trades facility. I left a few weeks ago.
There were so many trades, the one that interested me most of all was the ‘Security/Military’ trade. It only takes a month and a few weeks to get done with.
I didn’t take the security trade (hands- on-classes). Because all they did was take notes for eight hours straight. From 8:00 to 3:30 was nothing but note taking. Of course we had breaks in between and lunch break, but they hardly ever actually did hands on training.
I wanted to join Job Corps because of all the benefits, ‘housing, food, money’. I thought it would be like military school boot camp. It wasn’t what I was looking for.
But anyways since I been to Job Corps, at 16 years old I used to be 175 pounds and now I am 17 and 148 pounds. I lost all that weight by walking it off and eating right.
Now I’m solo training for my own self benefit, mentally and physically.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips to getting more in shape?
I’m not skinny but I’m not obese either.
I’m more on the thick side.
