I Expect Nothing

I think ever since my senior year of high school, with the immature drama from some friends, and just being reflective of what I believe an actual friendship should be, I've developed the mindset of "No expectations, because then you won't be disappointed, if something good happens, you'll be pleasantly surprised."

I don't have a bad mindset about people though, I try to think the most positive things when meeting people for the first time. Give them the benefit of the doubt, why not? I don't know them yet.

I don't know how these two views could coincide; but for me it does. I don't think of the world as an awful place, I'm just completely comfortable now with not expecting anything from anyone.

Anyone feel the same? I like surprises anyways. Haha

    Yep, I totally get where you're coming from. In fact, I think this sums up my philosophy quite well. I don't expect people to be good, but I don't expect them to be bad either. I just wait until they give me a reason to like or dislike them.

      Thank you! Yes, I generally just let people do what it is they do. If they do something even that I disagree with, as long as they're not causing anyone harm.
