Level Playing Field, My ***

When I was in 2nd grade, a white kid told me to go back to where I came from. Which is ridiculous, because I was born in the U.S. This experience has pretty much influenced my relationships with white people. The other experience that wasn't as blatant but was still kind of irritating was when my family got into a car accident. The fire department actually came by. All parties involved were brown people. Everyone started speaking at once, and one of the firemen put up his hand to shut us up and  asked, "Do any of you speak English?" Which was kind of insulting, considering they were speaking in English, and not to mention the fact that both my parents are college-educated and have lived in this country for like 30 years. Interestingly, though, the most virulent racism I've witnessed has come from Asian Americans more than white people, which is kind of depressing.

Odd, I would expect asians to be less prejudice.

People are so ignorant and I'm sorry you went through this.
