Writing For Fun?

When you write something, you hope someone will read it.
When somebody reads it, you want a lot of people to read it.
If a lot of people read what you,ve written, you want it to be successful.
If it,s successful, you want to get paid.
If you get paid, you want to be rich.
If you become rich, you ask yourself...why?

Do writers want to be rich, or do they write because they have something to say... or are they writing just for fun?

I think there are many differant reasons that people write.

The best writers start writing to express the deep thoughts within.

Then if the thoughts look good on paper (or on screen), they want everyone to be able to enjoy it.

Then, if it happens that people do enjoy it, they want to make a little money off it so they can do this full time.

But if they get to wanting to be rich off of it, something may be lost. Yet it will result in them providing what "the people" want - which could be good or bad.
