I Am Extremely Empathic

I can feel another's pain.. it can be overwhelming at times and its taken years to be able to turn it off. There are still times of extreme emotion where numerous people I am around are feeling the same way that it gets through and it can at time be debilitating

Welcome to the club man....same here. But it just shows you've got a great heart.

I cant take it. I feel the physical ache in my arms. It's so annoying though.

I find that to be a very attractive quality in a man. That is so f'ing hot. Sucks for you though. sorry. I can feel people's pain too like when people die and they cry about it and you can hear it in their voice, but most the time I am happy. My boyfriend makes me very happy.

Well I have to say these exercises are actually beneficial to everyone, I have learned how everyone absorbed negativity every day, I even help my kids and a new neighbor I met who is an emotional wreck to try and release these things and with our BUSY day to day world I had other spiritual advisor's tell me and others to meditate.. and I was like YEAH RIGHT!! 3 kids and a very complicated family situation and I have ADD, there was no chance!!! So I eventually had to find my own individual ways to release, and now I try to help others with it cause this world is just wayyy to busy for many of us to just SIT and meditate! But we also do not realize sometimes just how much is weighing us down, even when we go somewhere and you feel that energy from someone who for instance had a bad day, you know what I mean.. that heavy you can cut the energy with a knife feeling, we absorb alot of it without even realizing, so these releases are important to practice every day, instead of waiting for the physical signs of "too much". Very good exercises there Mystic... our mind is a vessil and we can train it however we want to hold or get rid of whatever we choose.

I myself am an empath and one thing that is important to learn is how to release excess energy that we absorb, and we can take on alot, but it can weigh us down and sometimes even make us feel ill, on and off depression can be a result as well, now myself my mind is to busy to sit and meditate, so I have obtained some really easy 10 second releases that I would like to share, it is necessary to try what works for you in order to keep your self balanced and to continue helping where you can... the technique falls along the lines of a "sigh" when we sigh it is actually our body trying to ris itself of the excess energy, now we take it a step further adding visualization to it... close your eyes take a very deep breathe as you visualize a bright cleansing light above you, as you release the breathe through your mouth viusalize all the negative you have absorbed flowing out with that breath into the light, do this 3 times each breath you take in visualize the renewing energy coming into your body all over from that light. If you do this every day a couple times a day you will begin to feel the benefit of it within 2 days to 2 weeks. Another one I like to use is when you are in the shower you picture all the negativity seeping out in your pores and being washed away in the water. Very simple and yet very effective!! For me, empathy has been a learned skill. As a young person I could not feel anyone else's pain - and I couldn't feel mine either. I didn't even know I had feelings. Becoming a father helped enormously. Bouts with Manic Depression also helped a great deal. Now I am empathic, I can feel and absorb the pain of others - it no longer scares me.

I have struggled with the same thing all my life,I was a volunteer rape victim advocate for two years and had to stop cuz it started to affect me physically.it is very difficult to turn it off...clue me in on how you do it
