I Feel Feminine
Somethings do make me feel feminine. Of course the clothing always does, a dress and heels or a night gown. Every time.
But other things, maybe silly things.
Watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Steel Magnolias" and "Under The Tuscan Sun". Crying while watching movies.
Having a glass of Champagne at the holidays.
Painting my nails, even clear polish.
Knowing names like Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karen, Mary Quant and Vera Wang wanting their dresses. Lusting for them even.
Window shopping, most especially for dresses and heels. Looking at bridal magazines.
Listening to Roberta Flack sing 'Killing Me Softly With His Songs' or 'First Time I Ever Saw His Face'.
Applying moisturizer to my legs and arms.
Feeling the tears well up watching my daughters wedding.
Laugh if you want, it's okay.
Silly little things make me feel feminine.
Always have, always will.
