My Heart Aches For My Sd

My stepdaughter came to visit (she's currently studying and on leave for a month). She fell head-over-heels in love with one of the students that studies with her.

He came to pick her up to spend some time with them at their family farm. Needless to say, she left with stars in her eyes, but came back very down and depressed.

Turns out that he's not as interested in her as she has hoped for. He doesn't phone her, send messages to her ... nothing. And she keeps on watching her phone like a hawk for a possible call / message.

I wish I could take her pain away ... but I guess it's all part of growing up. And who said it's going to be easy?!

Thank you. She is only 18 years old, so there's still loads of time to build her future with regards to marriage, etc.
I only got married when I was 28. Last night she told me that at least I have a husband and a child ... shame man ... like I said she's only 18 and already concerned about marriage.
I can only guide her along her path.

It is never easy but she deserves someone that is going to reciprocate those stars in her eyes. Life is too short to be with a man that can't reciprocate those feelings so although it hurts now just think about how happy she will be someday when she finds "the one" that is going to love her like she deserves. Good luck consoling her in the meantime.
