I Feel Islams Being Portrayed In Such a Bad Way

Islam Is a Beautiful Belief System.

I'm not Muslim nor do I agree with Islam 100%. Then again, I consider myself Christian but do not agree with any Christian denomination 100% either. I've known many Muslims throughout my life & have held great respect for them & their beliefs. I've read the Koran & found the teachings within very inspiring.

IMHO, Islam is taking unnecessary blame in a current climate of extreme nationalism. Politics are one thing, religion another, & history shows the two rarely go well together.

I'd just like to add that anyone being critical of something should at least know what it is they're criticizing. Most ardent antagonists to Islam rarely know anything about it.

    Nicely put. I specifically laud the inspired name calling.

    Speaking of not understanding what your reading, I should clarify that by "belief system" I'm speaking of the philosophical aspects, not the socio-political ones, but you do have a point that the two are rarely separated.

    Also, as to Islam being more about politics, I myself cannot see any arguable difference when it comes to Christianity & Judaism particularly with religion & politics. Seperation of church & state is a decidedly American aspiration.



    I agree though, this was a very touchy feely feel good post & you're absolutely right that in the (ahem...) REAL (lol) world, religion is a decidedly effective tool of intolerance & hate for anyone that is of the mind to use it as such. So YES! Remember to preconcieve & evaluate by prejudiced assumptions, because otherwise how can we justify ******* our preferred *******?!
