I Feel Islams Being Portrayed In Such a Bad Way
i hate how we forget that people are individuals
people take some information (very very little information usually) and for a very big generalization
I remember right after 9/11 how everyone was so united, and I was proud of it, still am in some ways, except we didn't just pull together to support each other after such a heinous act, we pulled together in an US vs THEM mentality
the Muslims and non-Muslim middle easterners all missed about a month of school where i was because of that ignorance
the day it happened a group of white boys ( i refuse to call them men) surrounded and beat up a Muslim student, which left the Muslim community terrified
I was friends with a Palestinian girl at the time, ans when she came back to school she explained to me what had been going on, how afraid her family was, then she missed another week of class and I was really upset because I didn't know what had happened, if someone else had been assaulted

She said she was walking to her car after classes and this girl grabbed her and spit in her face and said she was going to kill my friend's family because it was their fault, that they were the terrorists
my friend flipped out, and actually landed the first blow
when the police got there they believed the white girl and arrested my friend
luckily when it went to arraignment they had video and witness and they dropped charges against my friend and brought charges against the other girl.... for terroristic threats of all things
