The normal is normally cold-hearted. You are not alone.

I agree with everything you stated. I was raised in a christian family too, and while i am still religious, i cannot stand my families simple judgemntal views of society, or sinners as they might be called. My family arent christian nazis, there nice people, but you know how it is.

    Hi TheBenis

It is simple. Live your life on your terms and do what you want. That might cause conflict but that is the price of principals. If you accept that at the start then no problem. Seems to me if you want to live in a World where people are nice to each other then be nice to other people and you do. Treat people who are not nice as the people with a problem not you. I appreciate it is not easy but whoever said it was.

    Best wishes

    :)

You aren't alone. There are a lot of people, people like myself, who agree with you 100%. The problem is, we are generally not them most vocal group, we tend to be quiet, to try and respect others, and not push our views on them.

Our choices are to withdraw, to leave the world to the people who are loudest, the ones who want us to buy either their gadgets, politics, or religion, and give up, or, to stand up for what we believe, to hang in there and try to make the world a better place one friend, and one day at a time.

A lot of people say that they want the world to be a certain way, but they don't necessarily understand what that means. A lot of people for example, would want someone to stop and help them if they were stranded by the road, but they wouldn't stop to help others. The world isn't shaped by what people want, it is shaped by what they do. So to that person I say, if you stop someone by the road and help them, it becomes that kind of world.

So you serve an important role. I want, and I believe that you want, there to be more people in the world who are kind, thoughtful, generous, noncommercial, open minded, responsible, and helpful.

It is our job to be these people, and to show others that we exist.

It's a hard job, but if we don't do it, no one will.
