I Feel Like People Don't Care
And the "best" part of it is that people really don't give a damn about anything but themselves! They can't imagine somebody close dying/getting really sick NOT because of the pain that this person might go through but because of their own pain they could feel because they might have to watch somebody close to them being in pain! Human beings are ridiculous.
And no – there are no exceptions. Even priests and some missionaries or whatever do all those things they do for themselves only. To be redeemed, to feel better about themselves, to know they’ve done something good, to make the world a better place – all those factors, everything, it’s all for them. Making world a better place – for what? So that they could have an easier life. Or perhaps so that other people could have it AAAND in that case so that they could feel good about doing something to make that world better for those people. Their way of cleaning their conscience and finding a way to feel like a living saint. It’s all about their egos, fulfilling the points they’ve made in the past, checking their own persistence – whatever.
I can’t really say anything about mothers. I don’t know yet, I’m not gonna judge. I don’t know, I simply don’t know. I’m pretty certain though that even they aren’t completely selfless. There are no people like that. Definitely not one hundred percent altruistic. That doesn’t happen. People have minds and I’m sorry to bring the sad news to the world but – human mind is the biggest weapon one may own. But – like it is in marksman’s drawer – there are bigger and smaller guns… ;) And also there are people who know how to use them and there are those (a larger group) who don’t. And because of that imbalance the world is totally and utterly imperfect. And some people own the big gun but can’t bear it and they give up, throw it away. And that’s what I’d call a misfortune.
But I’ve changed the topic. Wasn’t planning on it. What I wanted to say was that because of thoughts, emotions and everything that’s stated by The Mind it all looks the way it does. Talking about the ‘caring only for yourself’ stuff right now.
But you know what? I don’t necessarily find it horrible. No, actually not at all. If everybody was thinking only about other people, the world would be a mess. We would drop a few levels down if I may say it that way. Because of human ambition we now are way further than people in let’s say 12th century. So in the end I guess one can be glad because of the lack of human selflessness (and also own a tiny piece of hope that there are people who have a small percentage of altruism – if it’s possible).
