Me Or The World?

Don't you hate it when old people go on and on about how much better the world was in their day? Jobs were easier to find, music was kinder, children were nicer, wine was sweeter, wars were quieter, grass was greener, and so on, blah, blah, blah. Obviously, my first reaction is always, "**** yeah, those days sound great!" Twice as many water fountains! Assigned bus seats! And 'Nam sure sounds like a blast too!

But sometime in the last few years--I can maybe pinpoint it to the time I graduated--the world has gone to hell.

Literally everything seems worse: the news is more depressing; I don't enjoy politics as much; gin makes me queasy, before it gets me drunk; I look at food and all I see is calories my thighs can't afford; the racists/sexists/homophobes seem to have become more plentiful; and I swear I have to wait longer at intersections.

Which leads me to two possible conclusions, either we are looking at some big-time, multi-generational conspiracy, inexplicably aimed at making the world incrementally *******, or it's me, getting old and lame way too fast.

...

...

I say, we find the freemasons/NWO, or whoever is putting up stop signs at every damn intersection and make them pay!
