I'm An Alien

My mother's side:

I don't like sports. I don't like playing sports, though kickball is fun, but that doesn't count. I'm not loud, while my cousins yell and fight, I sit in the corner and read. Though, I'm more comfortable with this family than my father's. As I've gotten older, I find myself enjoying and missing family gatherings because while this side fights with each other all the time, we're a pretty tight knit sector.

My dad's side:

Only two of Nana and Papa's kids had kids - my dad and aunt Sandy. My dad (as far as I'm supposed to know) has one and Sandy has four, but they live far enough away that I would only see them during holidays. I'm shy like Papa and my dad doesn't understand this because he's so damned outgoing. Growing up at Christmas, my dad would make me go around to everyone say thank you and give them a hug. I would have done this of my own accord, but I was forced to do it in front of everyone - I almost fainted a few times. On holidays, everyone sits at the table playing euchere, no one's ever taught me so I always sat off to the side reading, uncomfortably because someone would come over and talk every fifteen minutes or so. At dinner, politics are discussed and debated. I usually sit next to Nana so we can have our own conversation since my dad sits with his wife on the other side of the table.
