I Feel Sad Wn Formrly Cool Friends Decide They'Re Conservative
It's happened 3 times recently. First it was a boyfriend from high school. He was a musician and he made up a song about wanting a 60s revival. Now he's returned to his stereotypically redneck roots.
The second one was a female friend from college. We both voted Democrat during the Reagan years. Now she's got money and all of a sudden doesn't want to share.
The third one is a man I dated in my 20s. He used to be a sex-loving and sensual hedonist with liberal views. I'd bet money he still is, too - in which case, he's a hypocrite. For the sake of money or military domination or whatever, he'd sell out our country to the people who let puritanical born-again Christians have way too much power.
If somebody was conservative all along, that's not so bad. And I know people are allowed to change, but I have happy memories of these people the way they used to be. That's why I'm sad.
