If I don't get my own quiet time, I can't cope, really. Guess it's part of what's described as being introverted :)

If I could ask, have you ever read the Bible in its entirety? :)

And I'm thinking my friend, that you may turn out to be quite a kindred spirit -- those with whom I enjoy relating the most!

It's amazing the thoughts that come in that quiet time. I must have time like this. We most certainly have souls. ;)

Yes, I find it difficult to listen to my own true self in the hustle-and-bustle of modern life, so solitude really helps me. Do you like a bit of quiet time too, I wonder?

Strangely enough since I've been on here less my focus has changed too. I think it needed to. I'm not getting younger, and there are things I want to give time that are too personal even to detail here.

Hope you get more of what you want, tasmin!

I used to care for the elderly in a nursing home, there were many occasions when I had the privilege to be with a person when they took their last breath but one occasion has had a lasting effect on me. I sat with a man who was a fighter pilot during the war, he had been consumed with guilt because he had been responsible for dropping bombs on towns. He said he didn't know whether there was a God or if he would be forgiven but he agreed to pray with me. He felt that he didn't deserve to be forgiven and he really wanted to be punished and at the time I felt that it was more for me that he agreed. I held his hand when he passed away and I watched years of pain, guilt, grief and tension leave his expression and be replaced by peace and reassurance. I now have no doubt that the body and the soul are not the same thing and that there is an after life.

Gosh. I've seen dead people, but never had that experience. Must have been very difficult, especially if he or she was someone close.
